The Giants got the Browns first-rounder,as well as an early third-rounder Mut 24 coins that,could be considered,if careful,wasn't exactly the Browns best third-rounder.The Giants also received a first-round safety in the trade.This is a great deal.I'm happy with the amount of compensation.
However,that's about all to say about this trade.If you've followed me for long enough,you'll know that having a high-priced wide receiver on your roster without other pieces that are essential to the roster set(QB,LT,pass rusher,CB)is not a good idea.The Giants have been in that position.I'd normally support this particular deal.
However,Beckham exceeds this standard,in my opinion.I've seen him win Giants games.He's been caught on short passes and took them to the house for his final game score.For all the flak is he receives for proposing to punching nets or cool fans beloved within the locker area.
How much is the money?The Giants just offered Beckham an enormous deal in the offseason.It made him the highest-paid player within the Madden NFL 24 at about$18 million for the season.They paid him$21.5 million last year over the course of the games he participated in,and incurred$16 million dead cap space for him this season.
Some have made this claim but the truth is that:The Giants are building a team around a 38-year-old quarterback who has lost his productivity over time.The Giants have shored up the offensive line and have added Saquon Barkley to help run behind it.Sterling Shepard doesn't scream No.one wideout to me however.
The Giants are apathetic on defense.There is no pass rush,no the linebackers are often slow and not player to defend the pass.What are they doing?What's the strategy?
The Giants should have pressed the reset button last season.They could've signed OBJ,released Eli Manning cheap madden 24 coins ,and drafted Sam Darnold.or not signed OBJ.Whatever.But draft Darnold.He was waiting to be taken.
